Web Tool REDESIGN Training Workshops

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) is excited to announce major upgrades to its Medicaid Web-based Claims Submission Tool which was launched on January 1, 2012.  The user-friendly online instrument offers an array of helpful learning features that makes it even more attractive and functional to providers in search of additional tips and best practices for utilizing the information portal.

 

SCDHHS hosts free web tool training workshops that focus on the ins and outs of the new and improved web tool, including entering and submitting professional and institutional claims, building lists for beneficiary names and codes, filing claim-level adjustments, checking the status of claims, verifying the eligibility of beneficiaries, and viewing/printing/saving electronic remittance packages.

New Online Workshops!

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) is now offering all general training workshops online! To access the online training sessions through our e-learning Web site, complete the following steps:

  • Go to www.medicaidelearning.com.
  • Register and Login.
  • Select a training course (Medicaid Basics, Third Party Liability, Adjustments, or Web Tool).
  • Select a topic from the outline and click the "presentation" link to view.

 

Training sessions are presented in a slide show format with voice narration. 

Providers can select the "Web Site Feedback" link to submit comments or suggestions to the site administrator.  

If you experience problems accessing the Web site, please contact the South Carolina Medicaid Provider Service Center at 1-888-289-0709.  Select option 5 to speak with a PSC customer service representative.

General Workshops  

  • Claim-Level Adjustments

South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services implemented changes that allow providers to submit claim-level adjustments for paid Medicaid claims.  This detail-level process gives providers the capability of submitting adjustments directly to South Carolina Medicaid. To register online, click here.

  • Medicaid Basics

Medicaid Basics offers an overview of South Carolina Medicaid that includes specific information about eligibility, claim filing options, the remittance package, Third-Party Liability, and adjustments. To register online,  click here.

 

 

 

 

 

  • South Carolina Medicaid Web-based Claims Submission Tool

South Carolina Medicaid offers Comprehensive Web Tool training for providers who have not yet had the chance to attend or who would like a refresher course.  To register online,  click here.

 

  • Third-Party Liability (TPL)
The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will offer workshops to assist providers with their third-party liability responsibilities. The training will include an in-depth overview of TPL including reporting responsibilities, claim adjudication and resolution issues, and other resource information. Nursing Facilities providers and Pharmacy providers who do not also render Durable Medical Equipment (DME) services will not benefit from these sessions.

2012 Training Sessions

 

January 2012

Community Long Term Care (CLTC) Quarterly Training

 

 

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) is now offering training for Community Long Term Care (CLTC) providers quarterly. The training sessions will include the following information:

  • responding to referrals in Phoenix
  • accepting authorizations in Phoenix
  • documenting service delivery and billing for claims utilizing the Care Call system, and
  • how to monitor your case managers using Phoenix quality assurance tools (for CM Providers only)

 

This training will provide an opportunity to ask questions about CLTC and its programs.  The first training is being held at the Palmetto GBA building in Columbia on January 17th beginning at 10:00 a.m. and will last approximately two hours.

 

The additional Case Management training on Quality Assurance will last approximately one hour immediately following Authorizations and Billing.  Registration is limited to the first 50 signing up for the training.  While this training is for all providers we strongly encourage all new providers and new employees with providers to take advantage of this training.  We will continue to hold quarterly training sessions for CLTC providers. How do I register for a workshop?

 

On the Training Registration page, scroll down to the bottom of thepage and complete the registration form.

 

Click the Drop-down arrow and select the training session date and time.

 

Click the Submit button.

 

You will receive the directions to the training as confirmation of your registration.
