Healthy Connections 2010 Workshops
|
The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) is offering workshops in regional locations across the state to provide an overview of the changing healthcare environment available for South Carolina Medicaid beneficiaries in 2010. This workshop will provide an explanation and a brief history of how the South Carolina (SC) Healthy Connections Medicaid program started and how it has progressed. To register online, click here.

General Workshops

South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services implemented changes that allow providers to submit claim-level adjustments for paid Medicaid claims. This detail-level process gives providers the capability of submitting adjustments directly to South Carolina Medicaid. To register online, click here.

South Carolina Medicaid offers Comprehensive Web Tool training for providers who have not yet had the chance to attend or who would like a refresher course. To register online, click here.

| The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will offer workshops to assist providers with their third-party liability responsibilities. The training will include an in-depth overview of TPL including reporting responsibilities, claim adjudication and resolution issues, and other resource information. Nursing Facilities providers and Pharmacy providers who do not also render Durable Medical Equipment (DME) services will not benefit from these sessions.

Nursing Facilities and Intermediate Care Facilities for the Mentally Retarded (ICFs/MR)

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) is offering two
Nursing Facilities and Intermediate Care Facilities for the Mentally Retarded (ICFs/MR)
training sessions. The workshops will include a general overview of claims submission, reimbursement procedures, hospice and policy updates. In addition, information will be included about third-party liability, income trust, use of provider manuals and the Web Tool.
During the workshops, SCDHHS will refer to the Nursing Facility Services Provider Manual. It is recommended that you bring the updated manual. You can print a copy of the manual from www.scmedicaidprovider.org or you may purchase a manual from SC Medicaid Provider Outreach at (803) 264-9609.

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) is offering workshops for all CLTC providers in March. This training will demonstrate how referrals and authorizations will be processed beginning April of this year. Providers will not be able to get authorizations for services and accept them without knowing the process being described in this training.
Training sessions will be held in Greenville, Columbia, Charleston and Florence. There will be (3) three 90 minute sessions held at each site.
