Electronic Remittance Package

Beginning November 15, 2009, the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) began offering the ability to view remittance packages electronically. General Workshops  

  • Claim-Level Adjustments

South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services implemented changes that allow providers to submit claim-level adjustments for paid Medicaid claims.  This detail-level process gives providers the capability of submitting adjustments directly to South Carolina Medicaid. To register online, click here.

  • Medicaid Basics

Medicaid Basics offers an overview of South Carolina Medicaid that includes specific information about eligibility, claim filing options, the remittance package, Third-Party Liability, and adjustments. To register online, click here.

 

 

 

 

  • South Carolina Medicaid Web-based Claims Submission Tool

South Carolina Medicaid offers Comprehensive Web Tool training for providers who have not yet had the chance to attend or who would like a refresher course.  To register online, click here.

 

  • Third-Party Liability (TPL)
The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services will offer workshops to assist providers with their third-party liability responsibilities. The training will include an in-depth overview of TPL including reporting responsibilities, claim adjudication and resolution issues, and other resource information. Nursing Facilities providers and Pharmacy providers who do not also render Durable Medical Equipment (DME) services will not benefit from these sessions.

Program-Specific Workshops

 

   ***New training sessions for 2010!***

  • South Carolina Medicaid Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services

     

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) will offer workshops in Charleston, Columbia, Florence, and Greenville to provide an overview of program specific policies and procedures, procedure codes, and reimbursement requirements for Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services (RBHS).

 

The intended audience includes current Medicaid providers of Wrap Around Services, enrolled Medicaid providers of Children’s Behavioral Health Services, Child Placing State Agencies, and potential Medicaid providers of Rehabilitative Behavioral Health Services.

 

The workshops will be divided into two sessions on each day the training is offered. If you plan on attending BOTH sessions, you must pre-register for both sessions separately.

  • The morning sessions will cover RBHS policy.  Morning registration will begin at 9:00AM and end at 9:30AM.
  • The afternoon sessions will focus on RBHS reimbursement.  Afternoon registration will begin at 1:00PM and end at 1:30PM.

  • Nursing Facilities and Swing Bed Hospitals

The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, in collaboration with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control Bureau of Survey and Certification, is offering mandatory two-day regional Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0 training for nursing facility and swing bed hospital providers.  Providers are encouraged to send the facility’s MDS Coordinator and a back-up representative. 

 

The agenda will include an explanation as to why CMS changed the MDS and instruction on coding retained, as well as new items of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) 3.0, knowing when to do a resident interview versus a staff interview, and becoming familiar with the new Care Area Assessment process. An explanation of the effects the changes will have on the Survey Process will also be provided. Note cards will be provided for submitting questions.

The link allows for full download of the entire manual in a zip file.  However, attendees will only use Chapter 3 at the training.

 

It is mandatory for all attendees to pre-register for one of the two-day sessions.

Registration, on the day of training, will begin at 9:00 a.m. Training to begin promptly at 9:30 AM.  Space is limited. See locations on registration site for number of participants per session. Please choose a site close to your facility.

On the Training Registration page, scroll down to the bottom of the page and complete the registration form.

 

Click the Drop-down arrow and select the training session date and time.

 

Click the Submit button.

 

You will receive the directions to the training as confirmation of your registration.
